What is pyometra?

Pyometra is a uterus full of pus due to the effect of female hormones during heat cycle. It is common to middle age intact bitches but we see also young bitches with this problem.You mainly see it after oestrus.

What are the symptoms?
Your doggy will be lethargic, anorectic probably she will drink and pee excessively.You may notice green or brown discharge coming from the vulva.

This is the reason that we advise if your furry friend doesn't feel well to contact immediately your vet and not wait for 3 days.

Pyometra should be operated the soonest.We use to say that pyometra shouldn't wait for a sunset.

Spay your bitch please !

It is much more easier to spay in advance in the contrary with a pyometra situation,in an older septic animal.
